Denver, Co., Jan 15, 2025 – Last year, 14 AORN chapters across the country collected school supplies, hosted coat drives, donated backpacks with school supplies for disadvantaged youth, and organized food drives—directly benefiting more than 1,500 people in underserved communities through the DEI Chapter Project.

Launched in June 2024 by AORN’s DEI Community Committee, the DEI Chapter Project initially aimed to engage five chapters but expanded to include 14 chapters across 10 states. Each chapter received a $500 grant to support their efforts and partnered with organizations such as Ronald McDonald House, A Sista’s Touch, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Other activities included a toy drive for a domestic abuse shelter, organizing a 5K walk, donating backpacks filled with supplies, and providing shoes for people experiencing homelessness.
